How to Use MedAI
Get started in minutes — everything you need to know.
Create Your Account
Click Sign In on the login screen and choose Create Account. Enter your name, email and password. You'll receive a verification email — confirm it to activate your account. You can also continue as a guest with limited features.
Add an API Key (Required for AI Features)
Go to API Keys in the sidebar. MedAI supports four AI providers — pick any one:
Just paste your key and click Save & Verify. The top bar will show your active provider.
Fill Your Health Profile
Go to My Profile and enter your age, gender, blood group, allergies, existing medical conditions and current medications. This is optional but highly recommended — MedAI uses your profile to give personalized, context-aware health advice in every conversation.
Chat with Your AI Health Assistant
Open AI Health Chat and ask anything — symptoms, medications, diet, lab values, general health questions. Use the 📎 attach button to upload a photo of a prescription, lab report, or medicine bottle and get an instant explanation. Your full chat history is saved and remembered across sessions.

Privacy Policy

What We Collect
We collect only what is strictly necessary to provide the service: your email address for authentication, health profile information you voluntarily enter (age, gender, conditions, medications), chat history and health queries you submit, and the API key you provide — stored encrypted in our database. We do not collect payment information, location data, or any information beyond what you explicitly provide.
How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively to deliver a personalized experience within MedAI. Your health profile contextualizes AI responses so advice is relevant to you. Your chat history enables persistent memory across sessions. We never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing or advertising purposes. We do not use your health data to train AI models.
Your API Keys
MedAI operates on a Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) model. You provide your own API key from Groq, OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic. Your key is stored in Supabase with row-level security — only you can read or modify your own key. We use it solely to make AI requests on your behalf. Your key is never logged, exposed in responses, or shared with any party. We strongly recommend setting monthly usage limits in your provider's dashboard for safety.
AI Processing & Third-Party Providers
When you send a message or upload an image, your content is sent to your chosen AI provider (Groq, OpenAI, Google, or Anthropic) using your own API key. Each provider has their own privacy policy governing how they handle API requests. MedAI does not retain copies of your messages beyond your personal history stored in our database. AI providers may retain requests for abuse monitoring per their own policies.
Shared Reports
When you generate a share link from Share My Reports, the selected report content becomes accessible to anyone with that link — no login required. Share only what you are comfortable making accessible. You can revoke any share link at any time from the Share section, after which the link immediately stops working. MedAI does not control who you share links with.
Data Security
All data is stored in Supabase with row-level security (RLS) policies — each user can only access their own records. All connections are encrypted with HTTPS/TLS. Passwords are never stored in plain text. API keys are stored as encrypted strings. We do not log your health queries or AI responses outside your personal history. Our infrastructure is hosted on Render (backend) and Supabase (database), both with enterprise-grade security.
Your Rights
You have full control over your data at all times. You can clear your chat history from the History section, update or delete your health profile from My Profile, remove your API key from the API Keys section, and revoke any shared links from the Share section. To request complete account and data deletion, use the in-app contact option or email us. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
MedAI is intended for users aged 13 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has created an account, please contact us immediately. We will promptly delete the account and all associated data.

Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal reasons. When we make significant changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of MedAI after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
